Insight into Acting where you will learn how to apply improvisation into your craft, how to act truthfully under the imaginary circumstance, how to break down a scene.
In the post-lockdown era of 2022 - with the advent of the internet, social media, smartphones, DSLR cameras and computer editing software - actors and casting directors alike have unprecedented access to the various means of video production and consumption. Producers and Directors are increasingly moving away from Go-Sees and in-person auditions, and towards the submission of DIY online Self-Tape auditions: especially for large, open casting calls that are not specifically inviting a known actor to audition for a project. It is absolutely essential to the survival of a working professional actor to master the artistry, craft and science of a clean, lean and mean self-tape. Learn the technicalities of how-to set-up video, sound & lighting and the not-so-technical human process of how step in front of the camera with confidence, clarity, poise, thoughtful interpretation of a script, interesting creative moments and powerful emotional choices - all whilst finding a way to use tricks of the trade to stand-out from the crowd.
Elliott is excited to help guide actors on their own very unique yet unified journey towards self-discovery and self-mastery with acting. Acting is a very powerfully human process that we all share and practice every-day off set and off camera but we are all very different and must learn not only what drives us but what obstacles or blockages stand in the way of our performances reaching maximum impact.
